Meet Mr Henric Suuronen, the founding partner and chief executive of Play Ventures, a Singapore-based venture capital fund! His venture capital fund aims to generate high returns for investors in gaming business, and deals across multiple continents โ Europe, Asian and the US. Play Ventures has made five investments from the fund so far, at about US$500,000 each.

When asked about his overall investing strategy, Mr Henric had this to share:

My overall strategy is to diversify across asset classes and also geography. As I am a risk taker by nature, I might make a big bet when I feel that I understand the investment more than other investors. This is especially true in gaming companies where my years of gaming industry experience have given me a definitive advantage. Since my private investments are illiquid by nature and do not usually pay dividends, I balance this with stocks that pay 4 per cent to 5 per cent or more in dividends to make sure I get some cash flow. For capital preservation and retirement, I turn to value investing to ensure long-term gains and stable market returns and give my portfolio Asian market exposure.
