YOGA FOR A STRONG CORE // it’s Friday, we’re focussing one the core as always!! I having a strong core not only keeps me upright and balanced and able to do everyday tasks with relative ease but it also helps my yoga balance and asana, and inversions. I also do a lot of core training in the gym to help with my gymnastics and lifts.

Here are some fun postures to try that help to strengthen and condition the core.
1. Half forward fold variation
2. High crescent lunge
3. Knee to nose
4. Prime dancer variation
5. Dolphin pose
6. Side plank
7. Triangle pose variation
8. Hummingbird pose
9. Boat pose

These poses all contain an element of core control and balance. Hold each pose for 5-10 breaths. Try to really connect the mind with the muscles working, this this case the deep core muscles. Relax the upper body and lose the tension from the neck and shoulders. If you have any questions please do ask!! And please train to your ability and never force or push yourself to a place your body doesn’t want to go.
