"A quick early morning practice before I fly to Colorado. This is the first time I’ve tried a hollowback on my fingertips. It was much easier than I thought it would be. I practice strengthening my fingertips daily so I don’t suggest trying it until you put the ground work into the conditioning."

These are great for your core, hip flexors & overall compression strength. You need compression strength to ‘float’ your practice- press headstand & handstands, arm balances, etc. so include this 5min of goodness in your next session 😘
⃣ V Hold- shift your weight slightly back, pull your lower belly in, and inhale to come into a tight V. If your quads cramp or legs don’t lift, bend your knees for boat.
⃣ L Sit- plant hands halfway down your quads, lean forward, and inhale to lift hips. Draw your hips and heels back. Then lift feet off floor.
⃣ Leg Lift w/ Blocks- Place one block in between your feet and the other on the outside of the leg you’re working. Inhale to lift feet over the block and then lower. Modify by tapping the block and lowering.
⃣ Lolasana- Lean forward, pull your belly in and up and lift knees into chest. Then work lifting one heel and then both heels off the floor, ankles crossed.
Tip ❗Always point your toes! It will make your legs feel lighter. Tip 2: If your quads cramp, this is an indication your hip flexors are tight/weak
Set the timer for 75sec per exercise ❤

Here are a few quick little tutorials on the shoulder alignment in Downward Facing Dog. I’ve enlisted my incredible wife, @vesic_jelena, to demonstrate the different shoulder positions.
-
Video 1️⃣
🚫Avoid internally rotating the upper arms and crunching the shoulders towards your ears. ✅Instead, while pressing firmly into the hands, try to roll your triceps down towards the floor.
-
Video 2️⃣
🚫Try not to collapse the chest towards the floor.
✅Tuck your lowest front ribs in and down to help lengthen the back and access your core.
-
Video 3️⃣
🚫Don’t pull the shoulder blades down your back. ✅Reach through your externally rotated arms and let the shoulder blades slide up the back towards your head.
-
Of course, there are many different ways to do the same thing, but these are the techniques that I’ve found most helpful for myself and my students. Try these tips out and let me know how it goes! 🙏

⠀
BUT wheel is a great pose because…well, it works the whole body. 😅 here are some tips that really help me work on wheel:
