“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

Each year, 12 million girls across the globe are married before the age of 18. We believe all girls are made in the image of God, worthy of love and respect and full of God-given potential for a bright future.
In celebration of International Day of the Girl, we're sharing stories from two bright young women and their mentors from our girls' clubs in Malawi. Read the blog post, link in bio.

It’s been a year of incredible change. Change that for many of us has been painful and confusing, change that often feels too much for any one of us to carry. But what if, underneath the surface of all that’s been lost, amidst the rubble of what’s been uprooted, another story exists — one of opportunity, persistence and hope. One that not only says, “You were made for change,” but that you were made to thrive through it.
Join us for a six part audio series as we reflect on and embrace this journey of change, turning to scripture to discover what it means to lean in, look forward and reimagine the future together. Sign up today at the link in our bio.
"We are in a season in which the evangelical faith is being narrowly defined and misunderstood by many, with long-term ramifications for our gospel witness. We seek to present a thoughtful, humble, biblically grounded statement of our identity that we pray will function as a light shining on a hill to a watching world, to the glory of our Father in heaven (Matt. 5:14–16)" – Walter Kim, @NAEvangelicals
NAE President Walter Kim shares more in @ChristianityToday about how evangelicals can affirm our moral leadership. Read more at the link in our bio.

Today, World Relief and the National Association of Evangelicals publicized a statement calling for evangelical Christians regardless of political affiliation to repent, renew and resolve their commitment to engage in civic responsibility for the health of the nation for the good of all people.
As evangelical Christians, we are called by Jesus to love God and to love our neighbor, and as Americans who heed this command, we must engage the complex social issues that face our nation with humility, civility, intellectual rigor and honesty. We invite all followers of Jesus — whether Democrats, Republicans or Independents — to join us for the flourishing of our country.

This fall, @WRFoxValley welcomed this beautiful family at the airport as they arrived in the U.S. for the first time. As they were driving to their new apartment, the father asked if they could drive by the school where he will learn English. He said it is one of his greatest wishes.
We are thrilled to see this family thrive and have hope and a future thanks to your generosity. Our hearts are full.

"When we advocate for those whom the Bible commands us to advocate for (whether the unborn, prisoner, refugee, etc…), we are sometimes asked if World Relief is getting political. If by “political” we actually mean “partisan” — supporting a candidate or a political party— the answer is no. But if we can define politics as “the art of good policy for the flourishing of the nation,” then yes, we are engaging in the art of advocating for good public policy for the flourishing of the nation. As followers of Jesus we are not excused from this discussion, rather we are commanded to be in it!” — Scott Arbeiter
Recently, World Relief President Scott Arbeiter spoke about the differences between being partisan and being politically engaged as Christians. Politics can be a tool to promote the dignity and flourishing of all people within our nation. What have you found most helpful or challenging about remaining non-partisan when engaging politically?

Meet Balan. Before arriving in Sacramento, Balan was a Christian marriage family therapist in Malaysia, but was targeted by radical groups and his therapy practice was destroyed. So he fled.
But when he arrived at the San Francisco airport, he was stopped by the US Customs and Border Protection and sent to a detention center. Against incredible odds, Balan applied for asylum without legal help and it was granted on the 100th day of his detention. World Relief Sacramento helped him find a place to live and find a job at the Sacramento airport working for SSP America in food service. He was soon promoted.
He is in the process of petitioning for his wife and children to join him and is both patient and hopeful that they will be reunited. Join us as we pray for refugees around the world and learn more about how you can advocate on their behalf at the link in bio.

Just before midnight last night, the Administration narrowly submitted a proposal for a FY21 refugee ceiling of 15,000. This will be a new record low for our nation. Unnecessary delays in continuing the U.S. refugee resettlement program in FY2021 means families will remain separated, religious minorities will continue to live at risk of persecution and unrest and displacement will continue to exacerbate vulnerabilities for women and children in particular. We ask you to join us in praying for refugees around the world who will be impacted by this proposed refugee ceiling and see how you can advocate on their behalf today! Link in bio.

Today is the last day for the president to arrange a meeting to determine the refugee ceiling for FY21, which he is legally required to do.
Refugee resettlement has been cut by more than 80%, from the historic average goal of 95,000 to an all-time low of 18,000 over the past several years. We’re facing the world’s worst displacement crisis since World War II and that's why we need you to make your voice heard as we call on our leaders to restore the refugee ceiling to 95,000 for FY21.
Your voice is valuable and we've made it easy for you to advocate on behalf of our refugee brothers and sisters in just one minute. Use our email template to contact your representatives on our website today! Link in bio.
