We really didnt have any problems with making decisions about becoming Vanlifers, and moving into the Van, but somehow we are having such a hard time to make a decision to get a temporarily place for the winter with the pandemic still around. Should we stay in the city and get an apartment or a cozy cabin somewhere remote ? Should we even bother ? Does it even make sense ? Even the temptation of having wifi, electricity, water and shower and all the comfort it comes with it doesn’t help us to make a decision! I guess we’ve been very spoiled with changing our scenery whenever possible. Not sure if it’s a comprise or not. The list of pros and cons are mixes up and it feels like we’re comparing Apples & Oranges here. It get’s a bit confusing!

Self care Sunday: it was nice to take a break for a couple of days and not worry about our batteries charge, water, parking or reception! The only one who is not so sure about this break is @lilythevanlifedog 🤷🏻♀️🐶

With summer being over there are many things we can’t do and many places we can’t go anymore as a , but at the same time the whole season change brings with it so many opportunities and advantages, you simply don’t have in busy summer days.
Camp sites are easier to find and not jammed packed anymore, trails are less busy and rentals are cheaper and more affordable if you need a break here and there.
It’s our first Fall and eventually winter in B.C and we already can feel the changes happening in our surroundings for better or worst.
Still so much to do and to see out here. It may be different kind of activities and scenery on the list but it’s not a shorter list if not longer thats for sure 🚐⛰🍁

We found out about 3 years ago around this time, when we were also planning our wedding. Perhaps we were not in a situation to start another big project, but the excitement of it all took over and we did it anyway
.
Not knowing what we are getting into, we took one step at a time: first, we needed to actually buy a Van ! so we started searching around. We had no idea what to do and how to plan the build at the time. to be honest with all the wedding expenses probably was not even the most ideal time to do it, but we knew if we don't buy it now it may never happen, so we found and bought the van and left the build for when the wedding was all done

“How are you going to pack all your life and move into a van? What are you going to do with your jobs? Where are you going to stay, park and sleep at night ? “ answer to all those questions we used to get asked or asked ourselves was a big “We don’t know !” but we said we’ll figure it out when the time comes. Our only focus was to get the build done. We didn't have a full, exact plan (still don't) but we took one step at a time and figured it out along the way.
It’s like anything else in life, you get lucky here and there, opportunities arise from nowhere and sometimes it simply does the opposite.
It goes on and changes constantly at the end of the day we made our dream come true!

We love this tiny home so much that It’s so hard for us to think about living anywhere else , but now we are facing three main issues:
1. Winter is coming
2. Covid 19 still exist and still going
3. Borders are closed to USA
.
So now we are not entirely sure what to do. We lived through winter in Toronto! if we survived Ontario’s winter, we could do BC no problem , but the issue is the ongoing pandemic situation, limiting our options like going to the gym, coffee shops , etc. So we have to make a decision sooner rather than later. Oh boy don’t we always struggle with making decisions we don’t like to make!!

Feels like we’re experiencing another social media coma. Season change problems ? Don’t think so! Feels like summer still here in Vancouver. We tried to work on our last weekend, got some good shots and some bad ones. We have some other footage we have not used yet for other subjects. Let’s see if we can actually sit down, edit and post something this weekend. Pretty sure we are not the only ones going through these cycles right ? 🤔

The Shower ! Something we put off for a long long time and it was officially the last part of our build. How late we finished it up you may ask ? 3 freaking months AFTER we moved-in to our Van !Yes that’s a true story full of good and bad excuses
.
So if you are in the middle of your VanBuild with a deadline, stressed and worried that you may not be able finish before the big date, just don’t give up yet. I mean please try and do your best to complete everything specially things like water proofing, putting up walls and plumbing and If you really can’t get it done on-time for any reason, just come back to our page, take a look at these shots , take a deep breath and know it’s going to be just fine.
