The GoPro Hero 9 action camera is more robust in almost every way. It has a larger battery, 5K video, and a more robust 20-megapixel sensor. For $449, there is a lot of camera in a very small package. It's pricier than the previous model and still needs a second battery for heavy use, but overall, the price is pretty reasonable. The Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 puts two screens in one 15-inch chassis, but it’s more than a gimmick. The second screen is useful, and the system puts forth some decent gaming performance. But it’s also quite expensive for a 15-inch gaming laptop — you’re definitely paying extra for the dual screens. The model we tested came in at a shocking $3,699. And while the ScreenPad certainly has its uses, Asus hasn’t quite figured out how to unlock its full potential yet. Photo by: @monicawchin

The Cowboy 3 is an excellent electric bike that’s all grown up and serious now. The fun off-road mode has been replaced by crash detection, puncture-proof wheels, and free mobile services at your home. Sadly, its speed is now capped at 25 km/h instead of 30 km/h, but it's better to be safe than sporty. It’s a little pricey at €2,290 / £1,990 (about $2,665), but it could be worth the money if safety is your priority. Photo by: @trixxy

A projector can provide a different experience than a TV in your home, but buying one can be daunting. There are so many models at a huge variety of prices. We spent months researching and testing projectors to find the best option to use in your basic home theater setup without spending a small fortune. Link in bio. Photo by: @alixdiaconis

Like most small business owners, the pandemic had an immediate and uncertain impact on Oski Collado. During the first few months of lockdown in the Netherlands, he received almost no orders for bike fenders on his Rain-Bow website. So in July, he put his online store on hold and left for Spain, not knowing what would come next. It was during this time that e-bike sales — and sales of bicycles in general — exploded across Europe and the US. Anyone who had a bike was suddenly pulling it out of storage and having it serviced or repaired. For more about Collado and his small business, follow the link in our bio. Photos by: @trixxy

The Sony A7C is a small in size, big in specs full-frame camera with a large ISO range, 24.2MP sensor, and fast autofocus. Coming in at $1,800, it has the sensor, processor, and autofocus system of 2018’s A7 III in a body that’s closer in size to the A6600. Fitbit’s latest smartwatch brings a bevy of new measurements and metrics to your wrist. With new features in the form of stress management (with electrodermal activity monitoring), skin temperature, oxygen saturation while you sleep, and an upcoming Food and Drug Administration-approved ECG-app, it seemed poised to give us the most holistic look at our health of any consumer-facing wearable yet. But the Sense is really buggy in its current state and doesn’t quite live up to its promise. Link in bio. Photo by: Brent Rose

Asus and Acronym have teamed up to create the weirdest and coolest-looking gaming laptop. The G14 Acronym is black with a dot matrix covering the lid. Those dots are actually tiny LEDs, and they can light up to display endless different patterns, from text messages to logos. But the real highlight of this design is the keyboard. The letters are a scattered flurry of color. The font is one you’d see in an old storybook. Somehow, it’s both quite sophisticated and totally unhinged. You can buy the ROG Zephyrus G14 ACRNM for $2,499. Photo by: @monicawchin

Weirdly, the fact that the Apple Watch Series 6 is the very best smartwatch by a huge margin feels anticlimactic. That’s probably because the same was true of the Series 5, the Series 4, and even the Series 3. At this point, the company would have to massively screw something up with the Apple Watch for it to be knocked out of the lead spot.⠀
⠀
Apple didn’t screw anything up. But that’s not the same thing as significantly moving forward, either. The Series 6’s updates comprise a bunch of very minor updates that will be unnecessary to the vast majority of people who will buy it. The headline feature, blood oxygen monitoring, also fits in that category.⠀
⠀
Starting at $399, it’s not the best deal you can find for your wrist, but it justifies its cost by offering a ton of value — just not enough value compared to previous generations that you’d notice it. It’s an iterative update, in other words.⠀

Elon Musk showed off the latest progress on his Neuralink brain interface last month. But his biggest claims — telepathy, merging brains with AI — weren’t exactly thought through. So what will it take to connect the latest tech to arguably the most mysterious thing in the universe: the human brain?
