🎉 A huge congratulations to our Photo of the Year Competition 2019/20 winner - recent @BartlettUCL graduate Runsu Hu (@asteria.ssu)! She received the most votes for her photo taken from the UCL Main Building back in December 2019. 🎉
Congratulations also to Division of Surgery & Interventional Science student Akshaya Teli (@akshaya5_), who came in second for her photo of the Main Quad from before lockdown which she shared with us in April, and to Medical student Sehajdev Singh Bhatia (@sehajdevsingh) for placing third with his photo of the @uclstudentcent1 taken in February!
We'll be starting a new competition in term one so keep your eye out for the official announcement and thank you to everyone who shared a photo with us in the past year! ❤️
👏🏾 Congratulations to everyone receiving their A level results today! 👏🏼
Will we be seeing you in September? 😁

UCL has today announced it will dename spaces and buildings named after two prominent eugenicists Francis Galton and Karl Pearson, following the findings of the Inquiry into the History of Eugenics at UCL.
Signs on the Galton Lecture Theatre, Pearson Building and Pearson Lecture Theatre will be taken down with immediate effect. Other changes to the names on maps and signposts around the UCL estate will take place as soon as is practicable.
The move is one step in a range of actions aimed at acknowledging and addressing the university’s historical links with the eugenics movement. A Response Group of senior UCL representatives is being formed to consider all the recommendations from the Inquiry including actions such as funding new scholarships to study race and racism, a commitment to ensure UCL staff and students learn about the history and legacy of eugenics and the creation of a research post to further examine the university’s history of eugenics.

Appalling recent events in the US have shone a clear light on racialised inequality & injustice. Any form of discrimination is opposed to our values. UCL is working to address disadvantage and discrimination and we stand in solidarity with our Black & racially minoritised students & staff.
