Plitvice Lakes is one of Croatia’s top tourist destinations and well worth a visit. I recommend coming with a tour or having a plan ahead of time because the park itself is huge! There are shuttles to help you get around and you’ll want to utilize them. . Anyone been here before?! .

So grateful that I was able to make it to Croatia for some much needed exploration after six months of quarantine in Los Angeles. My Croatian adventure began in Trogir—a darling little historic town on the Adriatic Sea 🌊. . Trogir is only about 20 minutes from the city of Split but offers a small town, romantic feel. It’s an UNESCO world heritage site - and the Venetian architecture and narrow cobblestone street make it a lovely spot to stroll, work, and just enjoy the slow life. . Have you ever heard of the “photo impairment effect? This refers the condition of being so focused on taking a photo of something “to remember” the memory that you deny yourself the opportunity to soak in the experience in the moment. . In fact, I heard about a study in which some participants were given a guided tour of a museum - some told to observe the objects and others to photograph them. Unsurprisingly the subjects who photographed the items had far fewer memories of the items than those who simply observed. . I know I can sometimes be guilty of this at times - and need a reminder to focus more on the moment and less on “documenting”! How about you? .

Hi there! I’m Lauren - avid traveler, digital nomad, and adventuress. I realize it’s been a while since I introduced myself to anyone new here - so just wanted to share a little bit about me!⁠ .⁠ About a year and a half ago I started my own little business @nomadainc running influencer marketing programs. Working remotely, and for myself, has made me happier than ever!⁠ .⁠ When not traveling, I live in Los Angeles with my boyfriend @colinscully, dog @anjunadog, and 2 cats, Jack & Fawkes. It’s a full house 🏠.⁠ .⁠ Colin has a more traditional job that takes him into an office, so a lot of my travels end up being solo (or occasionally with friends) - but we work to maximize his limited vacation time to take some pretty epic trips together too - like our 3.5 week East Africa holidays adventure last year and many domestic trips around Cali this year.⁠ .⁠ My favorite places to travel are definitely Southeast Asia & Africa. I love a travel challenge and dream of off-the-beaten road destinations first & foremost.⁠ .⁠ I have a very tight-knit friend group in LA. And I LOVE hosting parties & get-together, as well as attending festivals (when we aren’t in a pandemic lol). Some of my favorite festivals are @coachella & @splashhouse.⁠ .⁠ I don’t need a lot of sleep and have a ton of energy (as anyone who knows me can attest to haha). I try to get 20K steps a day minimum, but like to get closer to 30k on weekends...needless to say, fitness is also a big part of my life. When I’m at home, I’m always running off to a dance class, cycling, or going for a run.⁠ .⁠ I am a producer at heart and LOVE planning.
