Just gonna leave this here. 💙✨ You have permission to process for awhile and be productive if you feel like it but also just sit and ‘be’ if that’s what you need. 🥰 Also, it’s , so just remember that it’s important to not discount feelings, whether it’s others or your own. Talk to someone about how you’re feeling, whether it’s a therapist or a friend or family. ✨ I don’t really know what else to say today myself, but this little corner of the internet is for everyone and even if you’ve never left a comment or sent a message, you are loved and valuable and much appreciated. 💙💙
Spooky, steamy lettering 👻🍂 // Bullet journaling, but make it spoopy, amiright?
•
It’s another Tuesday, and I don’t have a lot to say, but it’s finally FALL, my friends and I’m positively giddy:) I’ve been waiting to do a coffee/tea theme until I had an idea that made me day “aha!” out loud, and I’m pretty pleased with how this turned out. It’s been almost two years of me trying out a new letter style for each monthly cover page, aaaaand this one might be in my top 5, even if the coffee cup is a little (or a lot) wonky and I changed the color at the last second because it looked wayyyy too summery. 😅But y’all were right - the Japanese uniball signo white pens work wayyyy better than any of the ones I’ve gotten from my local craft store. They’re so opaque and amazing!
•
But also, how the heck is it already October? I haven’t even started planning for the holidays yet, but I’m going to do my best to just enjoy this season while it’s here and not rush things:) So cheers to crunching leaves, sweaters with sleeves long enough to pull over your hands, and warming your fingers around a cup of something hot and steaming. 😋☕️ Have a great rest of your Tuesday, my friends!

welcome to my work in progress :) ✨ // Won’t you sit and stay awhile? Because even though timelapses make it seem as though art just magically and easily appears in 15 seconds or less, that’s not the case (at least with me). I’ve felt a pull to share more decidedly imperfect things lately, so here’s part of my mess of a process. In fact, I’ve been working on this nearly all afternoon and I still have so much left to do - from spacing to adding some more depth to getting those drips just right (I hate how the coffee pour looks in the upper left hand corner right now augh😅😅). Anyone who’s ever said art is easy probably hasn’t ever tried to be an artist.
•
But we don’t make art because it’s easy, right? We do it because we love it, completely, utterly, and incandescently. Because we have to, because there’s something inside of us that we have to write down or draw up or else we’ll probably go crazy:) But it isn’t easy, and it definitely isn’t made any easier when we don’t take care of our selves, when we don’t nourish our hearts and minds and bodies in order to create to the best of our ability. Overworking yourself most likely won’t lead to greater productivity, so why do we insist upon it so?
•
My darling friends, this is my little nudge to remind you that you shouldn’t feel guilty for resting, or sleeping, or saying no, or for taking extra time to make yourself some nourishing + delicious food. You won’t be able to be at your best if you’re empty. So however your cup liked to be filled, my friends, please take some time to do that. And all of you will thank you for it:)
•
I’m off to fill my cup with a quick walk in the autumn air and then a pumpkin bubble bath, so I thank you for reading through this ramble of mine and wish you all a splendid weekend. 🍂💙

😅✌🏻 This one! 🖤 All in good fun, of course, but this is one of those questions that pops up in my comments and DMs more than others. So here y’all go, this one’s my ride or die - but let me know if you’ve tried a better one in the comments so I have an excuse to buy new pens:) Link in my bio for my full pen supply list k thanks bye 😁

how to: b+w florals / bujo cover page idea, I guess 😅✨ Would you try this? // The thing I like about florals is that they’re very forgiving. Embrace those naturally wobbly lines, my friends, and don’t be afraid to use reference photos. 🌻
•
SWIPE 👉🏻 to see some behind the scenes of client work! 🥡✨ Because yeah, your girl designed this @honeygrow box:) And I’m here to show you how - just don’t ask me to show you how to make it levitate. 😅
•
@honeygrow and I turned a few rough sketches into a delicious to-go box last year, a box that ensures no bite of your stir fry goes to waste:) Not every project is as pleasant and delightfully revision free as this one was, but it does reinforce what I keep saying about being your own client and creating the kind of work you want to get hired for. 😉 C’mon, delicious food + black and white lettering? Doesn’t that sound like it would be right up my alley? It does - because that’s the kind of thing I put out into the world and that’s what y’all know me for. *nods head convincingly*
•
Sooooo while I nom on these noodles that I cooked especially for this photo shoot, I want to give you some food for thought. What type of work do you want to be hired for, and what are you gonna do about making that happen? 🤔🙏🏻 Sometimes client work will just land in your inbox all nice and neat and tied with a bow, but more often than not you’ve got to chase it down and work for what you want. What do you want to be known for? It could be something as amazing as typographic awards, or something as ‘normal’ as an introverted foodie that loves black and white letters. 😉🍜
•
Just put yourself out there. You don’t have to include your face with your work - you could hide it behind some noodles like I did here. But don’t stop before you even start. If you never try - you’ll never know. And if you never use your pencils as chopsticks then you’re one step ahead of me because I had to wash mine three times to get all the sesame seeds off. 😂 And if you need any handlettering or content creation for your business, you know where to find me! 😉 // design from 2018/2019

Where are my introverts at? 👀💙 *new stickers are available!*// This sketch-turned-holo-sticker is for those of us who need plenty of sweet alone time to recharge, and it’s hard to capture all the changing colors of this material but I tried:)
•
Being on the internet and working as an artist/content creator hybrid is still weird and new and uncharted territory, but I’m slowly finding my way and just wanted to say another thank you to everyone who hangs out in this artsy little corner of IG. Things keep changing but we just keep rolling with it, from mugs to client work to editing and all the things in between and I’m *mostly* excited for the unknowns ahead. 😅 Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or since yesterday, you matter to me and I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know. ☺️💙 I hope these simple stickers + little reminder makes you smile, and have a happy Friday, my friends!

better late than never 😋✨ // also, why is there no cinnamon roll emoji?! This month’s theme is inspired by the best dessert/breakfast food of all time, (cinnamon rolls/buns, whatever you call them) aaaand was it a good idea? I still don’t know. 😅 I do know that there’s no such thing as too much white gouache, because I ran out quickly and couldn’t make the bread color as light as I wanted to. And also that I need to practice more with blending my own colors and I can’t figure out if these tones dried down darker or lighter than what I mixed up. 👀
•
But to be a good artist/designer/creative, we have to be continually studying and learning and open to new things. And I’m here to show y’all that that’s what I’m doing and not everything is gonna turn out perfectly, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t just go for it. 😉 For me, painting and using colors is rather unfamiliar, but incorporating letters (and foods) makes me excited to try new things:)
•
Some of the letter shapes were trickier to turn into bread than others, but the imperfections kinda make it fun. ☺️ It’s a little bit of a different style for me too, but I just tried to not overthink it and draw something that felt right. So overall I’m rather happy with this afternoon’s attempt, and I’d love to hear your thoughts + critiques while I nibble on some leftover @gimmesomeoven cinnamon rolls (which are the best and only take one hour and the recipe works perfectly with dairy-free substitutions.) 😋🍴Have a lovely rest of your Tuesday evening, my dears!

how to: cute habit tracker / morning routine spread or whatever 👀✨ Would you try this? //
Another year older, another year tired-er. 😴😂 (idea from a tweet by technicallyron ) // Even if you love your job, it’s still a ton of work. And you can still get exhausted and burnt out and need a break or even some time away. Or maybe that’s just me because I don’t tend to manage my time or priorities very well. 🤭 Or it’s the summertime slump getting ahold of me again. Oops. But I’m very human, very flawed, and trying to learn from each mistake I make instead of letting them get me down. And every time I start to work on a piece about feeling uninspired, I eventually get all inspired about it, which is a nice bit of irony. 😉🤣 But I’m exhausted from a day of yard work (which is NOT my forte, let me tell y’all 😅) and will probably be watching through the Office for the 3rd time this year if anyone needs me. :) Hope you have an amazing and lovely weekend, my dears! // 🙌🏻
