Kim Kardashian has turned her considerable publicity powers to Armenia's war against Azerbaijan, which has claimed more than 300 lives since it broke out two weeks ago.
So big is Ms Kardashian's online profile that her statements on Nagorno Karabakh may have been viewed as much, if not more, than those of Armenia's elected leaders.
But while many Kardashian followers may have only a passing interest in Nagorno Karabakh, there is another worldwide constituency for whom it could not be closer to the heart: the global Armenian diaspora.
Since the flare-up of the conflict with Azerbaijan, the exiles have been mobilising en masse - some staging demonstrations, some organising relief supplies, and some even volunteering for front line duty.

'When James, my son, came back to live with us at the start of lockdown, I quickly noticed that all was not well.
'He went out of his way to be friendly, asking Jack, my partner, about his job, his day – but all he would get was monosyllabic replies.
'I let it go on so long partly because I hate confrontation and partly as Jack was so fun and “normal” when James wasn’t around that I wondered if I was imagining it all.
'But last week I happened to see my son go into the kitchen in the morning where Jack sat with a coffee.
'Without knowing I was there, James said a cheerful hello. Jack stood up, gave James a piercing glare then walked out, blanking him totally.
'It was the final straw; the scales fell from my eyes and I saw with absolute clarity what was going on: aggressive territorial bullying, as simple and as destructive as that.'

Dawn French says that "comedy is meant to be on the edge": "I remember enjoying those shows [Fawlty Towers and Little Britain] and not being offended by them, but now it makes you think, 'Should I have been?' I don’t know the answer. (...)
"I think we have to learn from this, but in my book I have written black characters – women and a man. And I feel very strongly that as a writer I should be able to do that.
"They are part of my life, part of me. And I also feel a black writer should be able to write white characters."
In her latest interview, the country’s most popular comic also talks about racist abuse when she was married to Lenny Henry, her new novel and the pressure to be woke.

This week, Diana Thomas discovers she has an urgent medical condition due to a mistake by her GP.
'A swollen prostate can sometimes block the urethra,' she writes.
'So one should never give a patient like me anything that will increase the need to urinate, because if the prostate prevents them from doing so the consequences can be, well, exactly what I was experiencing.
'Now I find myself unable to see the joke. I keep thinking, "What if I hadn’t been on my way to see a doctor? A ruptured bladder can easily be fatal. What if I ever get another blockage like that, and there isn’t a surgeon beside me?"'

Over the past 32 years, Matt Pritchett, the Telegraph’s front-page cartoonist, has managed to give us laughs from the unlikeliest source material: terrorist attacks, natural disasters, celebrity deaths…
If there’s a story, he can generally find a joke in it. But a pandemic? That was a new one.
"Although it was a very serious subject and people were getting very ill, I suppose there was enough on the periphery I could make jokes out of," he says.
There certainly was! ✍️

Never has a modern-day monarch fallen from grace so spectacularly as Juan Carlos de Borbón of Spain.
Once a national hero, Juan Carlos built a vibrant democracy from the ashes of the Franco dictatorship and saw off a coup attempt when the new regime came under threat.
But allegations of money laundering and a colourful private life came to haunt him, and were finally to be his undoing.
He abdicated in 2014, and this summer he took the decision to leave his country.

"I had no idea that the speech would go viral but I’ve done a lot of speeches in my life and could tell it was landing," says @juliagillard.
"Abbott and the opposition, who were initially interrupting and calling out, grew quieter as I went on.
"By the time I walked back to the office after the debate, people were calling to congratulate me. (...)
"When I heard that I had gone viral on TikTok, with young women re-enacting my speech, I was really pleased. I love the fact my words are rallying them to fight for gender equality."
