⛺️ early morning tent happenings 🤪💛 what’s your favorite part of camping?! I think mine is the first hot shower once we’re home again (😎) but also it’s seeing my kids so happy the entire time that helps remind me every four minutes that we are indeed not crazy. That, and loading up on gas station sodas and snacks that are free range all hours on expeditions like these💃🏻 (see the bottle of Squirt in Samson’s hand at 7am for example...)

Throwing it back to this magical moment from camping last summer in Grand Teton National Park! We attempted a night of camping again this week (🙈😎🤪😱🤦🏻♀️🥳😅😂🥴) and wild to think these two teeny tiny orange bunted babies are full grown fun and sassy toddlers who shout things like “MADALENAAAAAA, YOUR ELBOW IS TOUCHING MY PILLOW!!!”, as we try to get the crew situated for a night of snoozing inside a tent together. ⛺️ I reread my original caption when I shared this video last summer and was flooded with the hilarious and painful memories of trying to sneakily put the little girls down-bunting on AFTER they fell into a deep sleep each night since they couldn’t stand falling asleep in it but were too small for sleeping bags or blankets and the temps were so cold in the middle of the night that there was no way we could omit their bunting. Sometimes ya feel like a freaking rockstar ninja as a mother, and I definitely did every night of that trip. 😎 They’re too smart for me now though— felt less of a rockstar ninja this time around but that’s fine. I’m fine. They’re fine. We survived and had fun and slept a little so...💁🏻♀️

As I saw this moment taking place — of my dear husband playing our old piano I once painted yellow and my sweet oldest daughter singing her heart out beside him, a part of me almost blew off the majestic gift of experiencing such a moment — because a part of me was caught up in my frantic mode of “gosh, can’t wait to enjoy making these kinds of memories when the floors are redone, when those textured walls are smoothed out and finally painted so we can hang all our meaningful art on them which is still sitting in the movers box to the left.... when we raise those terribly low ceilings in the hallway, when... and also... and....” BUT, while I’m always still learning and growing, I’ve grown enough lately to know how to nip that thought before it engulfs me and shut.it.down. Time doesn’t wait til the room is picture perfect, til the new floors are put in or the kids are sleeping through the night or you showered and got your hair blown out all fancy— these memories and special moments happen around us no matter the circumstance and I’m so thankful I’ve learned to embrace and appreciate them in all their unfinished, sometimes messy, and ever pivoting glory. I hope you have a wonderful week making the memories with your loved ones and never taking a single one for granted. 💛

She dressed herself. Even picked the sunnies. Called for THIS soundtrack. And obviously owns all these moves. 💃🏻 Everyone find yourself a spirited toddler living their best life and you’ll learn so many things about how to live yours to the fullest along the way. 💛 Happy Saturday from my little two year old Madalena and myself to you!

I drew the line at bringing endless lizards into the house every day, but somehow this sweet boy still brings a chicken in at least once a day for a few minutes. Here is Samson and Samsonator the chicken 🐔 having a morning cuddle (and chase!) while I do my best not to lose my 💩 (I’m really trying.) PS— pulled out all the brown carpet yesterday! And suddenly, old splatchy concrete has never looked so good!😅😂🥳 Will share updates on the home renovation soon. It’s been slightly daunting (understatement) so my bandwidth to share feels a little frazzled. BUT, soon. In the meantime, counting down the days til we have a couple of fresh eggs from these 🐓
On Wednesday’s, we lunch date with @tiesandfries for milkshakes and 🍔🍟 Wait— is it only Tuesday?! 🤦🏻♀️ Not really keeping track at this point... someone just let me know when 2021 is here and in the meantime, making this a mandatory part of our Arizona experience. 🍔🍟
Hi, my name is Naomi and I enjoy long walks on the beach.... wait, I mean down deserted desert roads!🌵(Just kidding.) But I do enjoy me some yellow flowy dresses, desert sunsets 🌅 are pretty great, and eating Almond Joy candy bars for breakfast sometimes, too. 🍫 Also, I recently learned I can’t have my phone anywhere near me in the middle of the night because I definitely ordered the highest of high heels at 2-something in the morning the other night in a size too small and had no recollection until I opened my email the next day to see the order confirmation. 💛 2020 Naomi hasn’t worn heels since like, January?!September is messing with me. But even with no where to go or high heels that fit, put on a flowy dress and give yourself a twirl. It helps. I love you. Happy Monday.

Feels like a day that calls for some beautiful music. 💛🎹 This video is from a few years ago and an original song my brother composed and was still finessing on my out of tune yellow piano. You can listen to his full album on iTunes if you’d like (it’ll make you cry, fair warning— just search Isaac Reid.) Wishing all of you a happy peaceful Sunday!
