Riding the @tuscanytrail, me and my father decided to wild camp. The last time my father had slept in a tent was when he was in his late teens, so finding a place to sleep outdoors was a whole new experience for him. During the five days on the trail we pitched the tent in various places and although my father never complained, he kept asking me after each night if we couldn't find a place with short, dense and flat grass like that on a football field for the next night. So I was glad that for the last night I managed to find this spot and fulfill his wildcamping dream...not exactly a football field but the grass situation was close enough to make him happy. analysis

I took my 62-year-old dad on his first proper bikepackingtrip this week. He hasn't slept in a tent for at least 40 years, let alone wild camped before. But after following my journeys for many years, he became eager to try it out for himself. And I have to say, I'm surprised how well he did. He didn't complain once, not even after a damp and cold night in the tent. Instead, he paddled along side me, full of joy and his spirit inspired me. Without any hesitation, he has thrown himself into a new experience and bravely left his comfort zone behind. I'm pretty proud of him for doing so and I'm pretty sure, this won't be his last bikepacking trip....
Thank you to @miss_grape_official for helping my dad out with some bags. analysis
