So, the past three days have felt like three weeks... ⁣ ⁣ I haven’t jumped on social media as I was trying to gather my thoughts on how I felt and what I wanted to say. Here are my top insights for staying safe and balanced... ⁣ ⁣ 1. Don’t let anxiety overtake you. Everyone has it to varying degrees during times like these. Find a solution that works for you, and take a mental health break. Maybe it’s breathing techniques, yoga, or playing video games. Whatever works for you, find ways to ease your mind. ⁣ ⁣ 2. Maintain a routine. Not being able to freely live our everyday lives the way we’re accustomed to can be extremely stressful. However, creating a routine helps bring a sense of normalcy to the day. Many of us are working from home, so get up, get dressed, and don’t stay in your pajamas all day :) Get your morning workout and coffee in from home. Take advantage of today’s technology and do as many video calls as possible and engage with people. Create your virtual community. ⁣ ⁣ 3. Social distancing- the new buzzword. It is critically important for us to follow this as it will slow the spread of COVID-19 and save lives. ⁣ ⁣ 4. This too shall pass. While it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, we are in this together, and with a community based approach and appropriate behavior, we will come out stronger. We are resilient as people and as a country and we will get through this.
