Australians love to travel. With summer holidays and Christmas just around the corner, many of us canāt wait to see loved ones and support our regional communities, local businesses and our tourism industry. But that can only happen if our domestic borders are safely opened again. The health response to this crisis is our most important priority. And like many Australians we believe a shared framework should determine when our borders open. If you want to be reunited with loved ones after months of being apart, or to have a holiday in our incredible backyard, show your support by clicking the link in our bio.

Happy Fatherās Day to all the dedicated Dads out there. And our thoughts are with everyone around the world that canāt be with their Dads or families today.
@nackland had a 'fabulous start' to Father's Day... "The kids know how much I miss travel so they recreated a @qantas flight at home including a delicious breakfast 'on board' and a view out of the window. Feeling very loved ā¤ššā"
So special!
We know staying at home can be tough so weāve put together a care package to make this time a little more comfortable. Send one to a friend, family member, or even yourself, relax in our Business Class pyjamas with a cup of tea, choccy biccy and some other goodies šŖā. We may not be able to take to the skies right now, but there are better days ahead.

āKatrina and I met onboard a Qantas 747 in 1987 on a flight to Honolulu. We were both cabin crew. I was an air chef, cooking for First Class passengers and I took down a plate of lobsters, oysters and caviar to the galley Katrina was working in to try and win over her heart ā weāve been together ever since. Most of our lives have been spent on the Jumbo and it means a lot to both of us. The 747 may have flown off into the sunset, but thanks to that aircraft, we now share a lifetime of sunsets together.ā - Mark Walters, Qantas First and Business Class International Cabin Crew, with his wife Katrina Walters a former Qantas Cabin Crew member.

A farewell fit for a Queen š
šø Thanks to @gettyimages & @jamesmorganphoto for the aerial content
"When I was eight years old, I entered a Qantas stamp design competition because first prize was a ride in the front seat of a four seater Cessna 172 and second prize was a seat behind the pilot. I wasnāt very artistic but I was determined to give it a go and I won second prize. Ever since then I wanted to sit in the pilot seat. So began a lifelong passion for all things aviation. I joined Qantas in 1984 on the 747 as one of the first female pilots. I used to get a few peculiar looks from passengers when they saw me walking in to the cockpit. Nowadays people donāt bat an eyelid. Iāve flown the 747 for the majority of my career and am so honoured to be flying our very last 747 to the US. When I step off that plane and say goodbye for the last time, some of that Mojave desert dust might get in my eye. The stamp design is long forgotten but I can safely say this aircraft will always have a special place in my heart." - Captain Sharelle Quinn ā Qantasā first female Captain and in command of the last Qantas 747 flight out of Australia.
āFor 46 years Qantas has been a huge part of my life. The first time I saw a 747, I was overwhelmed by the size of it but they really are the Queen of the skies. I started flying back in the days of the glamorous upper deck lounge where we served cocktails, caviar and cigarettes to First Class passengers. Iāve flown all over the world but Rome was my favourite stopover, I loved the food, the history and the theatrical body language of the Italians. Itās been the most marvellous career, back in 1998 we flew a 747 to Thessaloniki to evacuate war refugees to their family in Australia. And one of my last flights was flying to Wuhan earlier this year to bring home stranded Australians.
I will be sad to see our final 747 depart next week but she has served us well and her time has come to rest. Bit like me really. The pandemic fast tracked both the 747ās retirement and mine. I will fill my time helping out with Meals on Wheels, learning golf and keeping up my tap dancing. I cried when I got the call up to operate the last ever Qantas Farewell Jumbo Jet passenger flight. It gave me the chance to farewell the aeroplane, some of our long time passengers and my fellow 747 colleagues. We couldnāt hug so that was hard. But for one last time I got to say āthank you and goodbyeā.
Marie Madalena, 747 Cabin Services Manager.
Today the very last Qantas 747 will take off on her final passenger flight, soaring over the nationās capital for the last farewell joy flight from Canberra. Sheāll take to the skies around 12pm, heading north and then to the west to take in the sites of the Snowy Mountains, passing over Tumut, Talbingo, Kiandra, Mount Kosciuszko, Jindabyne and Cooma before approaching Canberra from the south to pass Woden and fly over Parliament House, down Anzac Parade, over the War Memorial and towards Mount Ainsley. She will then fly down the length of Lake Burley Griffin and loop back for one final stretch down the lake to give everyone stationed shore-side a second look, before returning to the airport around 1.15pm.
Farewell, ā Today, the last 747 in our fleet, VH-OEJ departed Australia for the final time - adding a special display en roo-te to the US
