Nour is the lifeblood of the beautiful Brixton community that we are so fortunately surrounded by. Closing Nour will have a tremendous knock-on effect to local businesses and the culture of Brixton.
Nour is facing eviction and we must save it. Landlord, Taylor McWilliams (of Hondo Enterprises and Housekeeping DJ collective) has the opportunity to listen to the passionate residents of Brixton and he should.
We ask all our followers to support our neighbourhood and the @save_nour campaign by following them, signing the petition and spreading the word. Links in bio.

Silence is violence.
We will continue to update our stories/bio links with useful resources that help the fight against racial oppression and injustice. Let’s keep this momentum.
There are two more peaceful protests you can safely attend this weekend:

Black lives matter. We stand by those who are fighting for justice against police brutality in the US. Furthermore, we stand in solidarity with those who fight against racism, inequality and injustice across the globe on a daily basis.
We have a duty to be actively anti-racist. We must continue to read, listen, discuss and educate ourselves on racism, systemic racism and white privilege.
.
Rest in power George Floyd, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and the countless other victims of racism.

A quick message from us... We’re thinking of you all. We sincerely hope that you and your families are keeping healthy, and that you are coping as well as you possibly can.
For us, this has been by far the most challenging period we have ever experienced as a business, as we’re sure it has been for many of you too. In particular, witnessing the impact this has had on all of our staff member’s livelihood, and anyone associated with our venue from a professional perspective, has been nothing short of heartbreaking.
Fortunately, due to the Job Retention Scheme, we have been able to help the vast majority of our staff by placing them on Furlough, to ensure they have as much financial support as possible.
However, unless there is continued government support and more bold action, a huge percentage of venues like ours simply won’t survive. As we’re sure you will agree, music venues, bars and restaurants are an essential part of our community and culture, as well as people’s way of life. Not only is nightlife culture at risk, but millions of jobs are also at stake.
This is why we’re wholeheartedly supporting an initiative by Jonathan Downey and other industry colleagues, who are calling for and a 9 month to help protect UK hospitality businesses and save 2 million jobs.
The hospitality industry was the first to be impacted by Covid-19, and we will be the last to reopen our doors. Please join us by supporting this campaign.
Twitter: @HospoUnion
Following the latest information and advice from Public Health England, we have taken the decision to temporarily close our doors as a health and safety precaution, immediately, with the intention of reopening when it is once again safe to do so.
Whilst we’re gutted to have to make this decision, the safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff is absolutely paramount.
We’ll be working hard to reschedule as many of our upcoming events as possible, for which your original tickets will remain valid. For all events which are cancelled, refunds will be made.
This crisis is having an unprecedented impact on our industry, and our sincere thoughts go out to all of our peers during this difficult time.
We will continue to share news, developments, and of course our love for music via our social media pages in the coming weeks.
Please try to stay safe, be vigilant and help others where possible

One of DnB’s most prolific and highly respected producers and DJs, Calibre, takes over Phonox across every Friday in May.
Last summer saw Calibre curate 10 sold out weeks of mouth-watering programming at XOYO. We’re honoured to host his next journey in the capital.

Thank you so much to everyone who came down on Friday. It was an incredibly moving night, honouring one of our heroes. It was a clubbing experience that will live with us forever. Our love goes out to Sean, the Spun Out family and Andrew’s nearest and dearest.
For those who missed the flyers handed out on the night (pictured), they will be available to pick up from the venue from 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays, until they have gone. Please email info@phonox.co.uk if you have any questions. ❤️

After much careful deliberation, Andrew’s nearest and dearest would like this Friday’s ALFOS to go ahead, in loving memory of Andrew. Going ahead with the party aligns with the sentiment that Andrew wouldn’t have wanted the dancing to stop. Sean will play all night long.
There will be no advance tickets available for Friday night. To those who have purchased tickets, your tickets are still valid.
We’d like to share some of our memories of the maverick himself…
Andrew was a fascinating human, with unrivalled artistic quality and the kindest of hearts. These traits were perfectly encapsulated across his residency with us in March 2018, which we were humbled to host. The residency saw Andrew designing a bespoke painting, which was raffled off after the last night of his Phonox take over, with all proceeds going towards Brixton Soup Kitchen.
We were also fortunate enough to welcome Andrew and his musical brother Sean Johnston to Phonox for multiple ALFOS sessions. A typical night with Andrew and Sean would draw in the whole Phonox team, with Jules and Paul AKA two superfans AKA our sound engineers jostling for the shift. Either way, both sound engineers would be at the party, one of them (always Paul) with one less days holiday to claim.
Always a full club, of more superfans and serious music lovers, old and young, that needed no interfering from venue management. Everyone would be locked in and dancing. Possibly one of the only dance floors where twenty-somethings and their parents could dance together in perfect unison. This is testament to Andrew’s musical genius and how his inspiration spanned generations. (Continues in comments)
