🤩Despite the global pandemic, this summer BSc Environmental Science Student Andrea Whitin had an opportunity to intern at the Gulf Specimen Marine Lab and Aquarium in Florida. Speaking about her placement, Andrea said: “Despite the current situation, I was fortunate enough to find the internship at GSML. Although it was an unfamiliar field, I realised the importance of making the best of the opportunity. There were many precautions in place in response to the pandemic and the transition was unusual but easy to adapt to. “The placement allowed me to immerse myself in that environment and shed light on the multitude of creatures that live in the Gulf of Mexico, some of which I had never even heard of before. In addition to maintaining the species and exhibits, involvement in the procurement and logistics of the specimens has deepened my knowledge of marine science. I also got to aid with the rehabilitation and subsequent release of wild sea turtles and the stranding process which was a unique experience.”

🌟 Huge congratulations to BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing and Branding graduate @annielouisetaylor who won the @officialgfw Fashion Marketing Award. Go Annie! • Speaking when she was originally selected as a finalist, Annie said: “Being selected as a top three finalist is probably the biggest achievement I’ve made so far. It was an exciting, proud and shocked moment! In uncertain times, it has been a blessing to have my work shared with and recognised by industry professionals, and I feel so grateful to have acquired the skills and met the people I have while studying on Fashion Marketing and Branding. I wouldn’t have made it this far without them!”

👏🏻🎉Huge congratulations to Nottingham Business School graduate Louis Sproul, who has won the Target Jobs UK Future Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Undergraduate of the Year Award. • The award recognises determined, forward-thinking students who have an interest in the value finance can bring to a business. • The competition involved a rigorous application process consisting of online tests, an assessment centre and a video submission. • Speaking about winning the award Louis said: “I am incredibly proud to have been given the chance to represent Nottingham Trent University (NTU) at these awards as over the past four years the university has provided innumerable opportunities for personal development and self-education. • “Taking part in the assessment centre and being surrounded by impressive undergraduates from universities such as Cambridge and Imperial College London left me with a feeling of impostor syndrome at first. Ultimately, winning the award shows that NTU students deserve to be on the main stage as some of the best performing students in the UK." • Well done Louis!
