I strongly believe that every crisis opens an aperture to a parallel universe of opportunity, and is no exception.
In fact, itās way more dangerous right now to stand in place, because the world is evolving and adapting all around you at breakneck pace.
Imagine standing on the edge of the ocean as the š recede, and your feet sink into the sand as the water tries to gently dislodge you and pull you forward.
This post is your sign to go after what you want, jump in, and chase that wave.
So happy for a bit of normalcy to resume in my great but battered city today - indoor dining!
And at @bluestonelane, theyāre harnessing the power of Far UVC from @healtheinc to make the safest environment possible.
For those who havenāt seen my passion for this topic, some background:
Dr. David Brenner, a world renowned physicist at Columbia University, has been sounding the alarm for years that pathogens are going to bring us to our knees.
And the long term answer is not going to be a vaccine or a pill ā itās clean indoor air and a resilient society. Dr. Brenner has devoted his life to studying a spectrum of Far UVC light called 222 that has been emanating from the sun for 4.5 billion years but doesnāt reach Earthās surface.
Based on his studies and others, 222 light is strong enough to deactivate a virus ā including - yet not strong enough to penetrate the dead skin lawyer of our skin or the layer around our eyes.
In other words, itās safe for human exposure.
Dr. Brenner envisions a world where 222 light is pervasive ā in schools, hospitals, offices, subways - continuously sanitizing indoor air and surfaces.
And this week, that means grabbing a flat white and some avocado smash at Bluestone, thanks to Healthe!
āThere are two options - Iām going to get back in, or Iām going to be dead.ā
If you really, truly, honestly want to know what it takes to achieve your wildest dreams, watch this clip and give your undying commitment to what @willsmith is telling you.
I believe there is a simple formula that paves the way to every dream, and I try to live it each day:
Self awareness + constant iteration x relentless persistence = breakout success
Donāt make it more complicated than it needs to be.
Iām rooting for you. Unfollow anyone who isnāt.
I guarantee you that anyone in their 30ās or older will tell you that their biggest regrets are not the things they did in their 20ās, but the things they didnāt do while they had the chance.
Now is not the time to be risk averse. Now is the time to pursue your passions and learn from your mistakes. Donāt be so precious about where you end up, or so terrified of making a mistake, that you avoid opportunities because they donāt fit into your perfect 10-year plan.
Whatever crazy dream is burning inside, keeping you up at night, now is the time to chuck it all and just go for it. Your future self will thank you.

Why am I here and what am I meant to do while I'm here?
Two existential questions every person grapples with - especially in the Covid era - and to which there are no definitive answers.
But practically speaking, how do you actually figure out your purpose?
I had a far-ranging, soulful conversation on @linkedin with my good friend @jayshetty, who just published a phenomenal book . In this clip he shares a formula for finding your purpose. šWhatās yours?š
ā
I donāt have it in me to write anything uplifting or insightful today. Itās 19 years later and I am still so raw. I have flashbacks from being near the site within minutes of the second plane hitting the Towers and for two years after that, so shocking I canāt believe they are buried inside me and I look away as fast as they surface. Time doesnāt heal this. How humans can do something so barbaric is not anything we should ever just get over. The anniversaries become harder the more years go by because I think about it from the perspective of a dad, each passing milestone thousands of children experienced without one of their parents. Itās all so cruel. I donāt ever want this to be just another day because then it is more likely to happen again. Sending love and prayers to every person whose life was changed forever that morning. There are no words for what you have endured.
Conformity has a strong gravitational pull that is always trying to yank you back down to earth to the lowest common denominator.
It takes constant recalibration to live life on your own terms. But the stakes are so high.
A hospice nurse in Australia, Bronnie Ware, chronicled the end-of-life state of mind of hundreds of patients in the Top 5 Regrets of the Dying.
Right at the top: I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
When I had testicular cancer at 32, and thought this could be it, I felt an overwhelming sense of grief that I had wasted so much time caring about what other people might think. I wanted those moments back more than anything else.
So listen to @reesewitherspoon, never stay in your lane, and be true to you above all else.

I'm so excited to have an incredible guest joinĀ me this week on @LinkedIn Live: @JayShetty, former monk and viral storyteller who brings tranquility to millions of people every day through one of the top podcasts in the world.
Ā
Jay's new book Think Like a Monk simplifies the timeless wisdom he learned as a monk
into practical, actionable steps to unlockĀ our potential. I have no doubt this soon-to-be best-selling book is going to join the ranks of the Power of Now and other timeless classics that bring calm to our cluttered lives.Ā

At a time when our worlds have gotten so small, when we can barely leave our homes let alone cross borders, social media brought the world to us. I am so grateful for this extraordinary community.
Today Iām excited to be named to an incredible group of thought leaders around the globe who belong to @linkedinās influencer program. They offer a window into their world every day to lift us up, especially in these dark times.
Iāll continue to post whatever moves me and hopefully inspires you to look anew on what could be (follow link in bio).
Every time I see someone from another country pop up in my feed or comments, I am momentarily transported to that place and feel joy and gratitude and wonder. You inspire me to step outside myself and my context, reminding me thereās always another way of living life.
If youāre reading this from anywhere around the world, say hello down below.
Itās an honor to know you.
