Every Friday I share one of my favorite books from my shelves. I usually buy a book because I love the illustrations. This is no different. Sarabella’s Thinking Cap written and illustrated by @judyschachner is absolutely gorgeous! I love the colors and textures of Judy Schachner’s artwork and her characters are so lovable. This book about a quiet, thoughtful, creative, brown haired girl who is constantly daydreaming really resonated with me!💕

Life seems very serious and heavy lately, so it feels good to read a silly story. This book isn’t about cancel culture, ha! It’s fun! It’s funny and adorable and the illustrations are wonderfully full of life.

I spent months researching and drawing the devastation of the Great Chicago Fire. It is scary seeing so many parts of the world on fire this year. I read about fire tornados and red skies as a distant event that happened in the past, but those things are happening right now along the west coast. I don’t even know what to say. It’s a scary world 🥺
