Malus x purpurea 'Aldenhamensis' originated as a chance seedling in 1920 in the garden of the Hon. Vicary Gibbs, Aldenham House, Elstree, Hertfordshire, England. Blooms in Spring and then may bloom a second or third time.
Medium, round to spreading tree, bright carmine-red buds, single and semi-double vinous red flowers 25-30 mm across.Purple-red fruit 15-25 mm diameter.
Pollination: self-fertile
Harvest: Autumn
Features: Crabapple jelly, good pollinator for apples.

Malus ‘Sutyzam', the Crabapple Sugar Tyme, is an upright, oval, deciduous tree which typically grows 4-5m tall and to 4m wide. Glossy, rich green foliage and stunning pale pink flower buds that blossom into fragrant, snowy white flowers in spring. Masses of radiant red crabapples appear in autumn and stay throughout winter.

Malus spectabilis the Chinese Crabapple is looking stunning draped in these gorgeous blossom.
Introduced before 1780 from China, it is one of the oldest and most admired of the crabs. While considered a true species it has never been found in the wild. Deep rose-red buds opening to 40 to 50 mm pale pink flowers. Yellow 20mm diameter fruit.
Pollination: self-fertile
Harvest: Autumn
Features: Fruit edible if stored, good pollinator for apples.
