Weekend mood. 📚😴🙌
Swipe for some more photos of our condo kids room! It’s been slow progress getting it ready, but it finally feels complete. 🤗 I’ve tried to tag whatever I can but if I’m missing anything, let me know and I’ll letcha know where it’s from.

The moment everything changed. ❤️
We found out early July that we would be a family of FIVE. 🥰 THE best day of the summer. ❤️😭❤️ I had absolutely no intention of taking a pregnancy test that day, my period wasn’t due for another couple days, and I didn’t have all those usual “signs” that I’d talked myself into every month before. But I couldn’t stop the “what if” narrative in my head that day and decided to take a test just so I could stop obsessing. I actually completely forgot about it as I was sitting on the toilet waiting for those 3 minutes (Pinterest scrolling, you know 🤣) and when I looking over and there was a not-so-faint second line I actually had to read the instructions to see if that meant pregnant or not because I assumed I wasn’t. 😂🙈 This is actually a very similar story to when I found out I was pregnant with Isabelle (except that time I took a test because I was mad my period was coming and wanted to waste the stupid test 😆😬). With Nicky I didn’t realize until I was already 7 weeks pregnant that I hadn’t had a period in a while. 🤪 Clearly I’ve got some real killer intuition there. 💁♀️😂
Anyways, what a crazy (and beautiful and perfect) day that was. And what a crazy summer it’s been - first trimester nausea with intense humidity and heat is no joke 😳 - but we’re all beyond thrilled to be here and get to welcome another baby into our family in 5 short months. ❤️

2019 vs 2020
We finally joined the Reel life (see what I did there? 😉). We might need a little work on our coordination and dance skillz ...
2019: travelling, daily planners, extra-curriculars, wearing anything besides sweats. 🤔😂
2020: sweats 24/7, zoom calls with only half of a business outfit 😂, kids bored at home on iPads... 😏🤪
Not pictured: that 2020 kitchen def ain’t this clean. 😅

Made the most of those last few warm sunny days last weekend before it was time to break out the fall jackets and ankle boots. 🍁🥾
Took to the good ‘ol blog today to share everything I’ve learned over the past 7 years of photographing babies, toddlers + kiddos (link in profile 😘). I’m no professional photographer by any means but I’ve taken about 12,569,321 photos (🙈😅) of these two and there have been several tips and tricks I’ve learned that consistently help me get some great shots of my kids - whether for Insta or for a more personal family album, starting with the difference that a lightweight professional camera makes. And I’m always up for learning something new so tell me - what would be your tip for getting the shot? 📷🙏
Our office a few months ago vs now (swipe). 🤯😭🤪 Sometimes progress looks like the exact opposite. Everything had to be taken out so that the ceiling could be taken down to access the joists for spray foam underneath our future balcony above. But I’m beyond pumped for the end result and 🤞 that we’ll be done everything by December. Second slide is 2020, third slide is 2019, and last slide is 2018 when we first looked at our house before putting in an offer. What a wild 2 years it’s been!

Hellooooooo October!! Who’s ready for all things pumpkin?!? 🎃 Best month of the year!
… I like to practice my optimism by spending money I won’t get back. 🤪 I mean, soccer and swimming definitely won’t be cancelled by the second week of October, right? Right!? 🤔😬😷🤫
We may not have a front porch to decorate at the moment but that isn’t stopping us from going all-out fall. 🍁🍂🎃🙌 Picked up some flowers and mini pumpkins at our local market, and repurposed our empty glass food jars as vases to make a fun fall tablescape. 😍
Trying to create less waste in our day-to-day lives has been a big focus in our house for the past couple of years. Which is why I’m super pumped that one of our favourite school snacks, @minibabybelcanada, has partnered with @terracycleca to recycle ALL packaging. To participate is super easy - just sign up for the *free* TerraCycle program, collect all of your packaging, print a label online + ship everything off. You’ll collect points for every item you send, and your points can be used to make a charitable donation to a school or organization of your choice. Double win! I’ve put the link to this amazing program in my stories if you want to check them out!
How I’m feeling after the past week. 🤪 It’s been a doozy. 🤦🏼♀️ We’ve had exactly 2 of 8 school days where both kids were actually in school. It took exactly that long for the first kid (Nicky) to pick up the first runny nose of the season, get a covid swab (after waiting in line for 4 hours), and quarantine in an apartment because we’re knee-deep in a months-long house reno. Then, 3 hours after the results came back negative, the second kid (Isabelle) came down with the same runny nose and started that whole process again. Oh and in between all that I managed to drop a 73-lb box of tiles on my foot and broke (or as the X-ray technician put it “crushed”) my big toe so I’m now on crutches (and hopefully soon a walking boot when the pain is less intense) for the next 4-6 weeks. Add to that about 50 little things that didn’t work out as planned, which, on their own, are no big deal, but on top of everything else his week were Just. Not. Fun. Let’s just say, it’s not been our week. 😏 Here’s hoping things start to look up, though with the start of flu season and no rapid Covid test (that the Canadian government will approve) in site, I’m not too optimistic. 🤦♀️🤬😂😭
