One place that holds a special place in my heart is Derawan, a group of islands at East Kalimantan (East Borneo). Bland is the new Brand – @folchstudio is going to be part of @blancfest with a masterclass based on the idea that brands need the ability of shifting strategically and adapting continuously to ever-changing environments, platforms and audiences. It will be a brief practical exercise based on the analysis, understanding and approach - in terms of strategy, identity design, typography, art direction and content production - that allows an understanding of the elements that compose the new kind of branding: blanding.
Even though it’s a controversial concept within the graphic and branding field, it’s one of the most useful trends for brands and we’ll try to answer some of the questions behind it. Our idea is to bring key topics and insights from some questions that we’ll ask ourselves and also from the questions that people will send us to answer on the day of the session. The model of the show city oriented towards tourism has been blown up. If there is something that comes out of the general consensus of the last workshop we gave in Bilbao, it was the need to rethink the concept of the city brand. I would even say the need to rethink the very concept of the city brand. For cities like , as well as many others, is now time to generate a voice or city story (not necessarily institutionalized) that challenges the citizenry in an emotional and direct way. The objective should be none other than to recover communion, as well as a certain sense of resilience and pride of the city and of belonging.
Last weekend we brought BLANDING to @serifalaris with a masterclass – @albertfolchrubio and @r_f_m_r_t_n_z were part of SERIFALARIS with a intensive workshop of 3 days, based on the idea that brands need the ability of shifting strategically and adapting continuously to ever-changing environments, platforms and audiences.

Moving away from an institutional hub and growing closer to the MACBA museum or CCCB cultural center we needed to find a contemporary approach to the design to match these ambitions.

Light is an element with the capacity to add to the space all the nuances that define it visually. Perceptive, plastic and technical components coexist in its application and reading. The measure of the use of these components is what turns light into an essential element with a great transforming, communicative and sensitive capacity.
Currently, with the evolution of new technologies and the increasing use that is made of them, the incorporation of the figure of the Lighting Designer is essential in the design and definition of any type of space

We are proud to announce that the identity for the new archaeological museum of Lanzarote has been selected for the @adgfad LAUS awards 2020. — We had to develop an identity for a historic building with an ancient archeological heritage. The aim was to respect the essence of the location and building itself while generating a modern yet international new look and feel.
We turned the shape of the building into an iconic symbol. Based on the archaeological excavation site we created a grid system for its identity, combining two typefaces and a palette aligned with the natural colours of Lanzarote.

‘Foscas’ in the Window Gallery at @acidhousebcn ! – A project designed by @aoobarcelona for the TRIA shelving system by @mobles114.
Mobles 114 proposed to AOO Studio making a series of pieces finished off with a very authentic technique. The Foscas collection was born from the selection of molds for rotary presses and the extrusions of basic pieces already existing in Bonadona’s workshop, focusing on the most industrial aspect of the ceramic process.
Foscas will be exhibited from the 1st to the 6th of October at the Window Gallery. Come see it!
