Chef @alonshaya of @eatwithsaba in New Orleans says that if you've ever made pizza dough at home, you can just as easily make pita. He's got a recipe that can do both, actually. The big differences, Shaya says, are in the way that the dough—after it’s mixed, rested, and risen—is shaped and prepped for the oven. Head to the link in our bio for his recipe, and our guide to making pita at home.

The theme of this week's What to Cook This Weekend is "Easy & Cozy," and @samanthaseneviratne's Grape Cake with Hazelnut Streusel is a perfect fit in that list. She developed this cake for us last year, and it's one of our favorite easy fall cakes—the whole thing comes together in the food processor. Andrea Bemis' (@andreabemis) recipe for Swiss Chard Pasta With Toasted Hazelnuts and Parmesan comes with several built- in swaps. She writes that "you can use kale instead of chard, and any nut will work in place of the hazelnuts. Fresh out of balsamic vinegar? Red wine vinegar or freshly squeezed lemon juice will work." Chef and author @kellyfields didn't like cheesecake until she had a Mauthe’s Milklady Cheesecake. That cheesecake had a tart savoriness in it thanks to the Creole cream cheese made at @mauthesprogressmilkbarn. This 3-ingredient drink is Senior Editor @maggiejhoffman's new go-to fall drink. Remember the Alimony is a smooth Negroni-riff that comes to us from Dan Greenbaum of Brooklyn's @diamondreef. There's gin, Cynar, fino sherry in there... and that's it. Head to the link in our bio for the recipe.

Carlsbad, CA-born Bitchin' Sauce is a... sauce by name. But Well Equipped writer Wilder Davies found it makes for a stellar dip, dressing, and marinade. It's made from almonds, so it's vegan and gluten-free. On its own it's a condiment or dip. Diluted, it's a salad dressing. Wilder writes, "For any dairy-loving person who cannot stomach dairy, Bitchin’ Sauce is a vegan alternative to tangy, rich dips and dressings that does not in any way feel inferior." Head to the link in our bio for more ways to use this sauce. (Dip? Spread? You decide.)

@christianreynoso's latest Epi recipe, Braised Chicken Legs With Grapes and Fennel, is a great intro into crank-your-oven-up season. The sweet fennel, honey, and grapes in the dish are a perfect balance to the Calabrian chile paste and red wine vinegar. Head to the link in our bio for his recipe.
