Someday she will appreciate this photo! . This is the look of.........how much more of this fabric do I have to work with? . Jess has always had the ability to learn new skills quickly. In this case, it worked to my advantage. She has done most of the tedious fabric work because I'm not great at it. . This stuff is no fun!

What is something that you have learned how to do recently? . We have learned a lot of new things while building out this new van....... . Some include: -finding water fittings is a pain -wiring multiple items on one circuit -how to wrap vehicle upholstery (much more difficult than expected) -hitch and wiring installation . And of course........WELDING! . Our welding motto is "it'll hold" as long as it passes the sit test.

This is the look I had when we decided to run wires because we were running out of things to do while waiting on shipments. . We have never done solar wiring....seems pretty straight forward until you toss things like bed lift switches, multiple items on one circuit, or things that need to turn on and off. . I can happily say that we took a battery and tested all of our switches yesterday.......and they worked! It gave us confidence that all the YouTube and Google University paid off.

Van conversion update! . Many new firsts for us. This was our first attempt at carpeting for our walls. We decided to start with the speaker pieces so we can get that job checked off.

We keep getting asked what we are doing with 2 vans. Read on to find out! . Short answer: Just doing what feels right on this crazy journey. . Long answer: We've contemplated doing a couple vans per year to sell so we figured we should build a new one from scratch (most of our current one was done professionally) to see if we want to go down that path. . The next question we get asked often: What will we do with our current van? It will be FOR SALE in the near future. Feel free to share this with others and DM us for any additional information that you need. . For now.......We're about 2 weeks in to the new van conversion. . We quickly found out that Covid has caused many delays for products so we're doing everything we can to keep this project moving forward. . Keeping our fingers crossed that windows arrive today and then we should be in pretty good shape. Make sure to follow the build videos and SUBSCRIBE on YouTube. . Do you think you could complete your own van conversion? If you have, what was the hardest part? . As you may know by now, we're in Colorado working on a new van build. Well.....actually we're just sitting in our van watching it snow right now but we'll be back to building again in a day or two. . We're not experts at van building and can already tell you that it takes a ton of TIME!!!!! and RESEARCH!!!!! and PATIENCE!!!!! . Time for some REAL TALK: To say the last few weeks have been an emotional roller coaster would be an understatement. . There have been some intense highs and lows. . We got to spend quality time with dear friends that we havent seen in a while, and it was so refreshing. We typically spend a lot of time as just the 2 of us, especially with the social isolation of covid, and was a good change to be around our people. . We also experienced the sudden loss of 2 friends (separate incidents). Searching for answers and ruminating on thoughts of how these things can happen to such good people has left us feeling confused, sad, and frustrated. . All of this happening at the same time called attention to what's most important to us. Our friends. Our families. People we love. We sincerely value the online community here, but we spend a disproportionate amount of time online. It's a creative outlet that we use to help inspire others to follow their dreams, live outside the box and challenge the status quo. At the same time, minimal genuine connectedness occurs. . So we're taking a baby step back from IG. We'll still be here, posting and sharing our story. But the real effort will be spent elsewhere... in real life. .
