It is a very sad time for justice and fairness. We’ve lost the extraordinary RBG just when America needs her clarity, courage, and integrity most. May her memory be a blessing to us all, particularly for the women and other marginalized communities she fought for. Biden’s right: so close to the election, let the people pick the president and the president pick the justice. With their majority in the Senate, it’s effectively up to Republicans either to do harm or prevent it. It will be up to the rest of us to hold them accountable at the ballot box. Without question, Trump and McConnell will nominate someone who will do their bidding: take away women’s control over their own health decisions, take away health care from millions, weaken our voting rights even further, weaponize religion, militarize hate, let race discrimination flourish. Trump and McConnell shouldn’t get to make those decisions for everyone else. Tell your Senator, whatever your party, to wait until the next president is installed. And Democrats, get off your asses, quit bitching about what’s not quite right about the ticket or the Party, and win this election in November — up and down the ballot. VOTE and get everyone you know to vote Democratic, too. We have to overwhelm the forces of darkness trying to turn us on each other and take America backwards.

America has lost a legal pioneer, a champion for justice, a patriot. Ruth Bader Ginsburg was diminutive in stature, soft spoken, even frail in her later years — and yet her intellect, her insightfulness, and her grit made her the model of strength. She brought honor, rigor, character and depth to the Court, the judiciary and the country. She leaves a gaping hole on the bench, and in the hearts of all true patriots.

On , let's remember that the Constitution gives to the people the power to reinvent America, starting with our vote.
