When my my kiddos were babies I copied this giant ruler design I saw in a Pottery Barn catalog. I’ve marked their heights ever since they could stand and my folks also have one in their home. It’s FILLED with the our entire family including all seven of their grandkids. I am definitely a nostalgic person ❤️ I fill baby books out to the max, I save recordings of my kids learning songs or their abcs on my phone, and feel so dang thankful to be moving closer to my whole family in just two weeks! I used to ask my body to be strong when my mind was weak. I asked my body to show up when I didn’t have the mental strength to. I would practice strengthening drills in the wee hours of the day while the world around me slept. It taught me to be stronger. Taught me to show up for myself first. It’s created a new pattern in me. Three years later this strong body has shaped my mind. It’s never been a race to find the woman I am today. It came slowly (much like my practice) but through the process I’ve learned, she’s strong as hell. I just had to remove the layers because she was always there.

We are still three weeks away from moving into our new home. Kevin now lives almost 90 mins from my parents’ home (that’s where the kiddos, Selleck, and I are staying). My kids are peppered around my folks’ place during school (full time remote learning). We are living out of suitcases and grocery sacks. My level of being “on”, in high demand, and overstimulated are at an all time high and ... I’ve never been happier. Last night, it came to my attention that this month marks 6 years since I started my yoga practice! If you scroll all the way back to the beginning, this page shows day 1 of my first teacher training. Back then, I was a full time stay-at-home mom, had 88 friends and family following me, and wanted to share my path toward something that just brought a little extra peace to my day. To say yoga changed my life is an understatement. I’m so unbelievably thankful I kept following the little nudges and whispers I felt in my heart toward furthering this journey. Damn proud of how far I’ve come! Cheers to saying more “YES” in your life!

𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 𝒗 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 I don’t know how you parents of little ones do it?! My youngest was five when I started practicing yoga and after babysitting my niece and nephew (4 & almost 2) yesterday ... I bow down to all of you! No wonder I did 17,201 attempted practices yesterday! But dang, aren’t they cuuuute!

The smoke in Seattle has settled. The rain poured for the last week. Now the temperatures creep back into the 80°s. Another week of summer while the leaves continue to change. I didn’t have more than 30 mins to move my body so yesterday was my “Kevin Workout” (all of my drills are saved in my highlights), a leg and glute sequence, and with my ankle weights still on, I played a little longer! Sometimes, shifting the way we commonly work through things can change our entire perspective. I love how I get to apply shifts in my practice that lead me to feel a heck of a lot stronger in my every day life. Yoga is magic.

Settled back into my parents’ beautiful home for the next month before we FINALLY move into our new house! Already so eager to unpack into our new space but love having all of the extra time with my family. My folks truly have such amazing style and I’ll be sharing bits of their home with you in my stories. For those asking about their countertops (I shared in my stories last night), it’s called honed granite 🤩 and it’s edge is seriously the coolest! Off to go oversee our full time remote learning school day while I handstand, do my “Kevin Workout” (in my highlights under “Drills”), and work on coffee ! Handstand Entrance Drills After warming up my wrists and stretching into my shoulders THIS is how I start my handstand practice each day. My goal is to clap my feet together at the top and exit the same way I entered. In the beginning, I fell out of just about every attempt but I stayed with it. Even here you will watch me struggle, waver, and fall out. I still fall all of the time! The goal is to keep going and just put the time in! The more time on your hands the lighter and easier you’ll feel. And just know some days will be super strong and others you won’t be able to hold at all! One ROUND of: ➡️ Scissor Jumps - 5x Right Side ➡️ Scissor Jumps - 5x Left Side ➡️ Tuck Jumps - 5x ➡️ Straddle Jumps - 5x ➡️ Down Dog to Straight Line - 5x ➡️ Forearm Release - Stretch it all out If you practice with my on Playbook I’ve added this as a class and talk you through it all!
