Didn’t sleep well last night. I was up ALL NIGHT scratching mosquito bites😣 which cover my legs, arms, and feet.
⠀
If you watch my stories, I shared how we are so desperate for that “winter” feeling here in Florida that we bought a fire pit for the backyard. We wanted to roast marshmallows and play games - just something different to do since we mostly stay indoors these days. 🦠😷
⠀
The only issue with this fabulous plan, besides the fact that it is 90° here at 8pm🤪, is that Florida is home to the worlds most INSANE, RELENTLESS mosquitoes!
⠀
I hate chemical bug spray and Florida mosquitoes 🦟 just laugh at natural bug sprays so, I became their dinner🩸😣!
⠀
Today has been rough since I’m pretty tired and itchy, but there is always time for 5 minutes of work to get my mood shifting!
⠀
Swipe left! This is a quick full body routine that you can do that works almost everything.
⠀
Do each exercise for 1 full minute with 15 second break in-between
⠀
or
⠀
do each exercise for 30 seconds completing 2 rounds.
⠀
Sometimes 5 minutes is enough and that’s okay!
⠀
1. Oblique twist
2. Plank shoulder tap
3. Plank, leg lift, knee tap
4. Locust toe tap
⠀
Innovative & effective & home workouts!

⠀
If you are looking for ways to spice up your home or workouts, you have stumbled upon a great post!🎉
⠀
I’m working on several new programs for 2021 (I can’t wait for this year to be over! How about you?🤗). These are all about functional movements.
⠀
We often think about “ab exercises” as a way to make our stomach look good, but a six pack doesn’t necessarily mean you have functional mobility throughout your body.
⠀
It might just mean that you have only trained your rectus abdominis (a superficial muscle) and nothing else.
⠀
What might better serve you is integrated core movements. These are exercises that help train many muscles at the same time through dynamic ranges of motion.
⠀
When all our muscles are strong and fire properly an amazing thing happens!
⠀
We 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 better!
⠀
Looking better happens too but it’s far less exciting (especially to us over 40)!
⠀
Swipe through to see how to use these integrated core movements to train the entire body.💪🏻
⠀
As always with Pilates, use audible exhalations and try to steady the core as you move through them. Lifting up the pelvic floor and bracing/hollowing the belly will also make these 💯👌🏼!
⠀
Which one is your favorite?
Which seems the hardest?
⠀
(3 is my hardest 🔥 and 4 is my favorite🤩!)
⠀
If you want to practice with me, 𝗻𝗼𝘄 is the time! My yearly plan saves you 𝟰𝟬% and you are locked in 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿!

Alrighty friends who love fitness torture🤪 (remember “ways to torture you on Saturday” posts?)!
⠀
Here is one to try. It’s a full-body movement that builds heat and recruits many different muscle groups💪🏻.
⠀
1. Hold single leg dolphin/bear pose
2. Move through a single w/leg extension dolphin pose 🐬
3. Repeat & breathe with “shh” sound - Keep your bottom knee floating.
4. When you press up into Dolphin make sure to exhale as you dynamically lift the leg up to really feel it in the shoulders and deep core.

A little little over a year ago I had a mini break down. I went into a month long depression. I thought that at 45 years old, I was too “old” to not have my 💩 together and feel this way.
⠀
I had a business, personal, and physical crises happening all around me and I immediately went into blaming myself and thinking that it was all my fault.
⠀
A dear friend (@iamtulin) gave me a pep talk that I’ll never forget. As I cried to her about how much of a failure I am, she said with a firm yet loving tone:
⠀
“Nothing is wrong with you. Life just happens!”
⠀
She went on to tell me to “trust the timing” of the events that I perceived to be devastating.
⠀
After that call, I decided I could wallow (which I did for a while) in pity and self doubt, or I could use this as an opportunity to have the life I always wanted.
⠀
I found a therapist & she asked me to make a list “where I want to be in”
5 years, 3 years, 1 year & 1 month plan.
⠀
When she asked me to make the same list “if at the end of those time frames I 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗲” list, something in me clicked.💡
⠀
I realized all this time I had been valuing things that hold no actual value when compared to death.
⠀
I knew then that all these things were happening at the 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 time for me.
⠀
My long list of goals changed to writing down “walks/time with my husband” and “daily quality time with my children.”
⠀
A year ago I never thought a Pandemic would make my new lists manifest in such a profound way but here we are.
⠀
I mean... my husband and I have always talked about home schooling our kids, but we knew we would never do it. It’s just crazy to think we are homeschooling now!😳
⠀
I woke up this morning feeling conflicting emotions about everything. I’m beyond overwhelmed with feelings of sadness, anger and frustration, but yet, I’m so grateful for this past year.
⠀
Everything in my life may not be as I want it, (definitely not as I would have it) but all I can do is trust the timing.❤️
⠀
Thanks for reading.🙏🏻

👉🏻Highly requested! How I use my ladder to stretch and strengthen!
⠀
I get asked every single day for videos about my ladder. I am not certified (if there is such a thing) but I practice a few things that my /handstand coach taught me years ago. Remember Eugene?🙃
⠀
My husband made this ladder (there is a video on my YouTube if interested) however, you can buy them.

I will put an amazon link on my website that is highly reviewed. Click the link in my bio and go to “products”.

Do you have a dead butt? Do you feel like your 🍑 is weak?
⠀
You are not alone!
⠀
Level up your bridge!💪🏻
⠀
Posting this because I received a few comments and messages for more glute work using the bands.
⠀
I have to admit that my butt has been a source of insecurity from time to time in my life. Thank God for people like @therealsirmixalot in the early 90’s telling us that it’s okay and desirable, right?
⠀
Before that we had skinny models on every cover which was something that I thought I had to look like in order to be “beautiful”. I’m so glad that has changed.
⠀
Now in my 40s, I just want to be strong and feel good. I’m fine with a “Becky” size butt as long as it is strong and I remain pain free!
⠀
For me, a lot of my back pain was caused by my weak glutes. Sitting all day long + never using any kind of resistance causes my surrounding muscles to take over and throw my pelvis out of alignment.
⠀
I’m using the same band from yesterday’s post. These are on my website if you are interested. Use “BEACHYG15” 15% off.

Look! Phineas 🐶 dropped in to say hello!
⠀
He hasn’t been featured on my page in a few weeks because he’s really lost a lot of his eyesight and stays downstairs most of the day now.
⠀
I also think he doesn’t like it that I’m too busy to pet him when I’m on my mat.😉
⠀
With regard to these videos...
⠀
Have you ever used this kind of resistance band before?
⠀
I think I have a love/hate 🥰🤬🤪 relationship with it!
⠀
SWIPE LEFT
Do each side 10x - 2 sets if you can. I’ve got the band looped around my foot (Phineas is blocking your view).
⠀
BYG Members: I just filmed a 30 minute full body fusion workout with it and my shoulders were ON FIRE 🔥! I’m thinking of adding more classes. It’s a pretty great tool to have and it’s only about $10.

I will link the one I have in my stories as well as these amazing leggings (cause I know you’ll ask😉).

I am working on a new program for women to help balance hormones, tone & strengthen, as well as learning how to listen & be kind to our bodies.

⠀
If you are feeling a little 🤪 lately, breathe & move your body if only for 5 minutes. I promise it helps!

I love to use the small ball under my heels to help activate the + work the calves.
⠀
Have you ever tried this with the ball?
⠀
The Pilates small ball is burst proof and very inexpensive, but don’t fret if you don’t have one. You can deflate a kids ball to use that as well (just be very careful not to pop it)!
⠀
SWIPE LEFT!
⠀
Try these three exercises and let me know if you like it and if it BURNS!🔥
⠀
1. Placing the ball under my heels really helps me engage my pelvic floor and deep core. I also feel like it helps with hamstring flexibility.
⠀
2. Squeeze the ball between your legs as you twist and lower down one hip. Keep shoulders squared.
⠀
3. Place the ball under your heel and dynamically lift the other leg. Keep hips stable as you do this and try to avoid arching the back.

Enjoy! If you like these, try out my class called OMG Core! You get a 7 day trial when you sign up at beachyogagirl.com!

If you want to practice with me, 𝗻𝗼𝘄 is the time! My yearly plan saves you 𝟰𝟬% and you are locked in 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿!

⠀
I will put an amazon link on my website that is highly reviewed. Click the link in my bio and go to “products”.
⠀
Please bookmark 🔖 this post and TAG anyone who would like it. I can also post this in a carousel or on my stories highlight if you’d like!
⠀
I actually had a few more ladder videos I can share. Does this ladder content interest anyone?
⠀
Let me know if you’d like more in that in the comments below.🙌🏻
