U.S. Route 50 in Nevada
Day 76 - 3,526 Miles Traveled
—————————————
Nevada is not what I expected. When I thought about biking through this state all I could imagine were flat beds of sand in the beating sun. In reality, it is like Colorado, but more tan, and straighter roads.
Our rides consist of a series of mountain passes followed by valleys. At the top of each pass, the next desolate valley awaits, just like the last, inducing a sort of deja vu experience. This image was shot in one of those valleys, and you can see how this straight road dips down, then right back up into the mountain pass. It was captured at 600mm, giving it this surreal perspective. No photoshop here.

As @boughn says, if you've got it, pack it on the bike.
•
Levi @boughn took a little idea sparked by the project and created this fantastic adventure cyclist, complete with Shimano sandals and a DaBrim. It's a little bit like one of those children's puzzles where you have to find all of the hidden and hilarious details. We just love it. And don't forget to turn the sound on for extra fun.

What's a weird piece of gear you can't go without on your bike trip?
